I WALK WITH MY TALK…
Believe it or not, it came to a point of asking my-self why I am acting this way. This demeanour correlates with who I am three decades ago.
There are 3E factors that determine our attitudes: Environment, Experience and Education
Environment
Attitude begins at home. The cliche, “An apple tree will not produce a mango fruit” turns to be true to the most. Our parents are the first teacher to raise their kids well. It is in our home where we are train good thoughts and good deeds. Benevolently digs out our personality and it begins with our childhood.
Flashback….
At the age of seven, my Dad instructed me to go to school by myself. While walking along the street, I pick up a stick ready to beat the dog after me in case it bites me. When I reach the three street corners, I look at my left and right side before crossing the road.
Finally, I was already at the gate of my school. I am very jittery about the instructions of doing it alone. And when I made it makes me feel- I am a super girl.
My Mom taught me to wash the dishes after meal. It’s hard for me to understand because I was only eleven years old by then. And she said; you are the eldest so you are in charge to take care of your two siblings while I’m out. That was also my first time to cook for our meal.
With those scenarios, a can-do-attitude or guts was built and an exposure to sense of responsibility.
Experience
With the proper guidance that my parents taught me, I was enhanced to be independent when I took college in Cabanatuan City. After all the trainings in our home, I manage to live by myself without hesitations.
I have learned to deal with inter-personal and inter-group relationship to different types of people. That was what I earned before working with staff. The attitudes are taken not just from positive but from negative experience as well.
I always deliver with a strong work ethics- action woman.
Education
The responsibility of delegating task in handling platoon was learned as a Girl Scout leader and Cadet Officer. The resilient of getting to know the road map to success overt the awards such as: “Ms. AMA-CLC” and “Most Outstanding” student. It helps me how to surpass fears in a different levels and reform the values of discipline and respect.
The benefit of learning goes on and on until finishing Bachelor’s degree. Taking MBA course is a big step to elevate my career into a higher level of learning.
The MBA subjects improve my management skill. It increases my ability in conflict resolution it educates me to employ an integrative (win-win) negotiation strategy. I have learned to strike a balance by being “fair and firm”.
As a bank manager, i have learned to pushed for production and at the same time takes place into consideration.
Conclusion:
“CHARACTER building has to come before skill development. The rationale is simple: If the person has the right values, skills follow”
Our disposition or attitudes in life is easily determine the way we response in any situation. The training from our home is the lead factor to develop our attitudes.
“Experience is the best teacher”, meaning experience may this be good or bad educate us for the better.
Furthermore, Education ought to teach not only how to make us a living but also how to live.
The explicit (taken from books) and tacit (based on experience) knowledge improves productivity that affects our personality.
